South Bend, IN -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/08/2014 -- The Lamb's Chapel United Methodist Church's "Chocolate Get Away" women's retreat will be held October 10 to 12, 2014, at Raybird Youth Camp in South Bend, Indiana. As seen at http://www.lambschapelumc.org/, the theme of this year's retreat is “Dancing in the Rain - Choosing Joy in the Storms of Life.” The retreat will focus on the biblical story of Ruth and encourages hope and joy in the lives of the women who attend.
In order to assist women in finding the joy and beauty in life through music, singer and songwriter Laura Whidden will be featured as an integral part of the retreat. Laura will share not only her music but information about her work as a partner with the humanitarian aid organization World Vision. Through her connection with this organization, Laura has been able to help children and communities throughout the world battle problems such as hunger. She also supports several groups focused on healing from depression, including To Write Love On Her Arms.
This retreat will feature the music of Laura Whidden, large amounts of chocolate, and a chance for women to connect with others who share their faith and their values. Laura says, “I love the ladies at the Chocolate Get Away so much! They have been a great support to me and my ministry throughout the year. We had so much fun together last year, I can't wait for a great second year!”
