Written by Swamini Sri Lalitambika Devi, ‘Grief: A Path of Loss and Light’ shares the author’s story of caring for a dying child, while providing glimpses of the infinite as revealed by profound experience. Above all, readers will be empowered to acknowledge grief and appreciate dying’s place in life’s vast grand design.

New York, NY -- (SBWIRE) -- 12/04/2013 -- While every person in the world is faced with the reality of imminent loss, only those who fully grieve find that they are able to embrace both the loss and the continuing life journey. In her captivating new book, Spiritual Teacher Swamini Sri Lalitambika Devi helps those facing grief transcend becoming lost in denial, anger, or depression.

‘Grief: A Path of Loss and Light’ offers gentle guidance and support for the grieving process. A culmination of the author’s vast experience as a hospital chaplain and meditation teacher, the book offers an insightful testament to the transformational power of love and faith, when grief is experienced fully.

The creative non-fiction book was inspired by the author’s own ministering to a loved one who was dying. That personal experience has now been transformed into a universal teaching that yields support, comfort, and spiritual insight to others facing similar losses.

The author comments, “This death called into question the purpose of my life and compelled me to contemplate spirituality in the midst of daily living, as well as how we can each awaken through our common losses. It is my hope that this new guide for patients, families, and caregivers illuminates the poignant challenge and beauty of caring for a terminally ill loved one. Faith provides great comfort as the end of life nears.”

Continuing, “Caring for this child in his decline and awakening revealed practical insights on making difficult treatment decisions, staying present with suffering, and deciding what to do when nothing more can be done. May this experience help all readers embrace peace, patience, faith, hope, and joy in the face of overwhelming loss.”
