The new show is based in Michigan, where it follows the story of a young dancer called Omari who is under house arrest, when he, his friends, and his family comes across dramatic lifetime experiences.
Omari (MTV's Kenneth Strong of Collzion Crew) life is very complicated. He wants to get his life back in order and get his life back on the right track, but he finds that a challenge. The dancer falls in love with his social worker, Kyra (played by Erika Coleman). However, he is already in a relationship with a high maintenance-demanding girlfriend. Omari, who lives with his female cousin and her cheating drug dealer boyfriend, belongs in the world that is full of drama, excitement, love, and cheating.

Jonathan explained that after watching the movie "Crash" and watching R. Kelly's "Trapped in the Closet" videos he decided to walk in the same path. By giving some comedy and drama combined with a twist is how "Twisted Mines" came about.
