Lancashire, England -- (SBWIRE) -- 10/26/2015 -- A key hog roast company, The Pendle Pig, had recently commented on the governments plea to have food better labelled, to display just where the food has come from, due to the desire by many to choose local food over anything else.

The government put together a study which reveals that 80% of the general public prefer their food to be local, which helps support local farmers, rather than farmers outside of the area which have no connection to the town, other than as another place to supply to.

In April, it became mandatory for meats such as pork and lamb to be labelled as such, and the government also plan to introduce Great British Foods later in the year, to celebrate the diversity and quality of local meats.
