Suburban Marble & Granite Features Their Tuscany Collection of Authentic Italian Marble

Ivyland, PA -- (SBWIRE) -- 04/15/2019 -- While they're known for being the providers of bathroom floor tiles for homes across Montgomery County, the team at Suburban Marble & Granite are professional fabricators of luxurious and custom-made granite and marble countertops, and experts in their field. After a recent trip to the marble quarries in the northern regions of Tuscany, Italy, they are providing information on the most well-known types of authentic Italian marble, and what their differences are.

There are three main types of Italian marble: Carrara, Calacatta, and Statuario. Much of the marble that is available in the United States is extracted from quarries around Carrara, a town in Tuscany. It's not only known for these famous marble quarries, but also for supplying the stone for many of the world's greatest works of art over the last two millennia, including the Renaissance.

While the distinct types of white-colored Italian marble might look similar to some, there are actually unmistakable differences among them. For instance, Carrara marble features a grayish white "field," our background, and contains thin veining. While it generally has a feather pattern, it can sometimes have a blue-ish tone as well.

Calacatta marble typically has a whiter and brighter background compared to that of Carrara. It features thick veins that include hues of gold, brown, and beige. Perhaps the most prestigious types of marble in all of Italy, Statuario marble is almost pure white with dramatic vein patterns but less color than Calacatta marble.

The experts at Suburban Marble & Granite are currently featuring beautiful authentic Italian marble in their newly-renovated showroom for homeowners across Bucks and Montgomery Counties to add a touch of the Old World to their houses this season.
