Using a day-in-the-life format, the book’s whimsical narrative and stunning illustrations will help any child see the endless good their mom does and recognize that a ‘Super Mom’ is tucking them in at night.

Scottsdale, AZ -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/23/2014 -- Being a ‘mom’ is an enigmatic role with no limitations on its job description. However, each and every morph a mother makes has one thing in common – she is doing it to encourage and show love to her children. While many don’t give the world’s moms the credit they deserve, an aptly-titled new children’s picture book says a collective “thank you” with gusto.

‘Super Mom’ by Zarinah Curry tells the day in the life of a family from the child’s own unique perspective.

Synopsis:

Super Mom! A charming book told from a kid's perspective. This delightful story has rhyming text that highlights the many roles a mom plays to encourage and show love to her children throughout the day. "Oh, the multiple roles a mom plays to ensure her kiddos have a good day! She's a bus driver, chef, doctor and referee...at the end of the day she's a 'Super' mom to me!"

“I’ve been there!” admits Curry. “Bus driver in the morning, meal planner and chef in the early evening, referee late at night when bed time squabbles break out and a doctor who is on-call 24/7. I love every minute of it and know that millions of mothers also relish these opportunities.”

Continuing, “I want children to recognize all that their mom does for them and give her the ‘Super Mom’ branding she deserves!”

As Curry explains, her book will also increase diversity among children’s literature.

“Only 1.3% of children’s books are about African American kids, which is quite shocking. I’m a huge supporter of the ‘We Need Diverse Books’ movement and glad that my book has an applicable focus, yet a universal theme. Research also shows that including diverse children in books allows young readers to not only see themselves but also relate to their peers, thus encouraging more enthusiastic readers,” she adds.

Due to the book’s success, Curry has recently announced that she will be turning it into a series. ‘Super Mom Travels to London’ will be available in early 2015.
