London, England -- (SBWIRE) -- 08/24/2016 -- An official watchdog has revealed a surge in the number of individuals entering Britain illegally in the back of lorries, with Home Office staff reporting that illegal lorry drops alone kept them so busy last year that other immigration enforcement activities had to take a back seat, including tackling human trafficking and more.

Independent inspector of borders and immigration David Bolt has spoken out saying that the number of the people that entered Britain inside the back of lorries has almost tripled, rising from 2,411 in 2014 to 6,429 in 2015. With such a drastic increase in illegal lorry drops, and other areas being neglected because of this, further difficulties could occur going forward unless the number starts to see a decrease.
