Surgent CPA Review Announces Document Review Simulation (DRS)

New question types now available in Surgent CPA Review course

Devon, PA -- (SBWIRE) -- 04/15/2016 -- Surgent CPA Review, one of the fastest-growing CPA Review programs in the country, announced the availability of the all-new Document Review Simulation (DRS) question types in Surgent CPA Review. Surgent CPA Review is the first CPA Exam preparation course to make these new question types available to students preparing for the CPA Exam.

The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) recently announced that the DRS question type will debut on the CPA Exam on July 1, 2016. The DRS will first appear in the Financial Auditing and Reporting (FAR), Audit (AUD), and Regulation (REG) parts of the exam and will appear on the Business Environment and Concepts (BEC) exam in 2017.

The DRS question types are designed to present realistic tasks that simulate what newly licensed CPAs might do on the job. Each simulation features a primary document, as well as related source materials, for candidates to review. Highlighted words, phrases, sentences, or paragraphs in the DRS document may or may not be correct, requiring the candidate to select appropriate edits based on the relevant source materials.

Surgent CPA Review Vice President Liz Kolar, CPA, remarked that "We know that CPA Exam candidates want to have as much time as possible to prepare for the DRS questions coming to the exam this summer, so we're thrilled that we were able to be the first CPA Review provider to incorporate the new question types into our content. In addition to these DRS questions coming in July, the AICPA has announced a number of changes that will affect the CPA Exam in 2017. We're committed to keeping our content updated well ahead of these changes to provide our students with the absolute best opportunity to pass the CPA Exam."
