Thackray Memorial Scholarship for high school seniors who are planning to pursue a post-secondary major in construction management, agricultural science, or horticultural science.
The Walter J. Thackray Memorial Scholarship was established in memory of the company's co-founder and beloved family patriarch, Walter J. Thackray who founded the company with his wife Anna Cassalia Thackray. Known for giving back to the community and helping improve the lives of those around him, Walter bestowed these values to his children, five of whom continue to operate the family business. Through this scholarship, the Thackray family aspires to continue their father's philanthropic legacy.
One award will be granted to an eligible high school senior to help cover the cost of college tuition. To be considered, an applicant must also have: a high school GPA of at least 2.5 or greater, involvement in extracurricular activities, and a demonstrated need for financial assistance. Applicants will also be required to provide other documents including: a high school transcript, financial award letter, an acceptance letter from their intended college or university, copy of their FAFSA report and a recommendation letter on their behalf.
