On a date to be announced in February, the much-anticipated colorful celebration will take over Main Street in Manayunk to bring a day of excitement to the neighborhood. Over 10,000 active participants are expected to dance and sway to the lively music of string bands in their most vibrant costumes yet. The festive tradition is currently under production for 2016 and will feature a wide range of activities for residents to enjoy.
For the past couple years, ADVENT has been organizing and promoting the Philly Mummers Parade as part of their initiative to influence and show their support for the city's community. As the event schedule is being prepared, organizers are accepting sponsors and looking for talented string bands to perform. The fun-filled day will consist of various niceties, such as silent auctions, food trucks, face painting, dancing and more. A rain date will be determined in case of inclement weather, so that the equipment and valuable costumes can remain preserved.
