The 6th Annual Houston Press Artopia Will Take Place on January 25, 2014

Houston, TX -- (SBWIRE) -- 11/19/2013 -- The 6th Annual Houston Press Artopia will take place from 8 to 11 p.m. on Saturday, January 25, 2014. The popular art festival, which features art, culture, fashion, music and food, will be held at Winter Street Studios, 2101 Winter St. in Houston, Texas.

Over the years, Artopia has developed a well-deserved reputation as one of the premier art-related events in the area. In addition to fashion shows and live music, the evening will feature theatrical and dance performances, as well as a variety of visual art from local artists. Muralists, graffiti artists and many more will have their work on display during the event.

Tickets for Artopia are now on sale; general admission includes entry, food sampling, entertainment and an open bar. VIP tickets also include admission as well as free valet parking, access to the VIP Red Bull lounge and its catered food spread, a private bar, seating, and access to all of the general admission areas.

Artopia will also feature the 6th Annual Houston Press Mastermind Awards, which involves awarding a $2,000 grant to three worthy people or causes.

“During the evening, Houston Press will present three Mastermind Awards to progressive individuals or small organizations that have made an impact in the local art community,” an article on the Artopia website noted, adding that the winners will be featured in the Houston Press Artopia guide on January 23, 2014 and will be honored at the event.

“Each awards recipient will receive a donation from Houston Press to continue their artistic efforts. To nominate and learn more about the Mastermind Awards visit the Houston Press Arts Blog.”

Because Artopia is an event devoted to art, culture and fashion, attendees are encouraged to dress up for the evening. Anything from Cocktail Chic to Dressy Casual will be very appropriate attire. Artopia is also a strictly adults-only event, and strollers and baby carriers will not be permitted.
