The Avanti Company and its Vice President of Sales John Corey were presented with the Charles E. Hogue Award for Florida Section AWWA Manufacturers’ Associates Council (MAC) as Member of the Year.
Avon Park, FL -- (SBWIRE) -- 05/19/2017 -- Mr. Corey and The Avanti Company were recognized for their work on the New Technology and Training Showcase (NTTS) events held in various parts of Florida including Homestead, Port St. Lucie, Destin, Charlotte County and Oldsmar. These events highlight new technologies in the water and wastewater industry and provide education to all license holders and professionals in the field.
John Corey served as the Chairman of the NTTS in 2016 and was presented the award by MAC President Kevin Stine. The MAC organizes these events and provides AWWA approved speakers and topics to present the latest in new technologies in the industry in a generic, non-sales environment. Certified Education Units and Professional Development Hours are awarded to attendees. Participants include water and sewer operators, engineers as well as Utility and Public Works Directors from all over the state.
Scott Shugart from Specified Sales Associates is the 2017 NTTS Chair and has already held events in Manatee County, Oldsmar, Port St. Lucie and Ocala, Florida. Ongoing education in the water and wastewater industry is vital as the technology is changing daily to address the advanced needs of aging underground infrastructure. The FSAWWA MAC and NTTS events will continue to help the industry face the challenges ahead.
