The Brio Stone: Volume One in Compelling "The Land of Fantala" Series Invites Readers to Join Quest to Save Fantastical Realm from Impending Doom

Masterfully crafted by D.J. Hollis, ‘The Land of Fantala: The Brio Stone’ takes the traditional literary concept of good vs. evil to a game-changing new level, as a teenage king races to collect the scattered pieces of a legendary staff that could once again save the kingdom of Fantala from total annihilation. Along the way, readers will learn bold lessons about the lengths some forces will go to in the pursuit of absolute power. There’s nothing quite like this on the market.

Austin, TX -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/30/2014 -- While the fantasy genre has seen an undeniable boom in recent years, both readers and critics are calling for wholly-unique new narratives that don’t succumb to recycling of the ‘same-old’ literary concepts. Thankfully, author D.J. Hollis has stormed the scene with gusto to release a powerful novel that is setting new trends of its own.

‘The Land of Fantala: The Brio Stone’ contains a quest unlike any other. A deadly and unstoppable power is about to destroy the realm of Fantala, and the legendry staff that stopped a previous attack is in pieces strewn across the land. Can a young king find them and pull the plug on the antagonist’s all-or-nothing approach to gaining absolute power?

Synopsis:

Hypatios Heartshire is a seventeen year old human and the youngest king Fantala has ever known, due to his father’s untimely death. After receiving a prophecy about the resurgence of a five hundred year old calamity from a long passed ancestor, he sets out on a journey to collect the scattered pieces of a legendary staff, which was instrumental in saving Fantala from annihilation many years ago.

As if being the sole heir and trying to save the realm wasn't enough, his problems intensify when Duilius attempts the unthinkable in his quest for ultimate power.

Things go from bad to worse when Kerberys—the man allegedly responsible for the death of Hypatios’s father—seeks to capitalize on an opportunity to rid the world of the last remaining Heartshire.

In the midst of all of the chaos, the silver fox Adrastus has his work cut out for him. He’s a high ranking mage, trusted royal family consultant, and the king’s mentor. He’s also responsible for ensuring the Heartshire name lives well into the future; even if that means playing the undercover match maker for His Majesty.

“Fantala rests easy on the hope that a dangerous energy was destroyed centuries ago. However, it starts regenerating and the fate of Fantala is once again in question,” explains Hollis. “The legendary staff at the center of the story has the potential to be used for both good and evil. But which side prevails? You’ll have to buy the book to find out!”

Continuing, “The story also sheds light on the tumultuous issue of power, who is entitled to it and exactly what some will do to attain and hold onto it. These lessons cross over into the real world, which makes my story more than just a fictional thrill.”

Due to the success of this first novel, Hollis has recently announced that further volumes are in the works.

“I’d be lying if I said that this first installment leaves Fantala as a safe haven. There’s plenty more to come!” he adds.
