The CCGNJ Observes Men's Health Month

Hamilton, NJ -- (SBWIRE) -- 06/11/2018 -- The Council on Compulsive Gambling of New Jersey (CCGNJ) recognizes Men's Health Month, a congressionally-supported health education initiative celebrated through health fairs, media appearances, health information dissemination, and other outreach activities. With the goal of increasing awareness of preventable men's health issues and encouraging early detection and treatment, Men's Health Month shares many core values of the CCGNJ, which is why the Council is observing and actively participating in the cause.

With support from the White House, Congress, and state and local governments, Men's Health Month encourages policy makers, health care providers, members of the media, and everyone else to spread awareness of common men's health problems and promote early detection and treatment to men and boys alike.

The CCGNJ understands men's health issues and how disordered sports betting in the NJ Meadowlands can complicate these problems. As an organization designed to support populations of disordered gamblers and guide them on the road to recovery, the CCGNJ sees first-hand the consequences of neglected men's health issues, which is why the company feels so strongly about supporting this particular health initiative.

"When a person develops a gambling disorder, they are less likely to seek medical attention due to a lack of money and as a side effect of depression," explains Neva Pryor, Executive Director of the CCGNJ. "During Men's Health Month, we hope to spread awareness of this issue, so we can help those in need before their health deteriorates."
