The Philippines BPO Industry Goal to Be World Leader in Privacy & Data Protection

The Data Privacy Asia conference in Manila, Philippines, will provide tools and advice for how BPO entities can effectively address security and privacy issues.

Phoenix, AZ -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/14/2018 -- With the increasing number of privacy breaches throughout the world, and increasing privacy regulations, there are many security & privacy concerns related to business process outsourcing (BPO) in general, and to contracting call/contact centers in particular. The Data Privacy Asia conference in Manila, Philippines, Sept 19 & 20 will provide advice for how to effectively address those issues. A major goal for the event is to provide the tools and information to the Philippines BPO industry to support their goal of becoming the global world BPO industry leader in privacy and information security.

"We started the Data Privacy Asia conference back in 2015, recognizing that data protection, privacy and cybersecurity has moved from the periphery to the center for Asia. There is also now a greater need for privacy pros to comprehend cybersecurity to better protect customer data and similarly, cybersecurity pros must recognize their role in data privacy. By bringing these professionals together in one room, the conference hopes to foster greater understanding, mutual collaboration and a stronger community. This year, we want to emphasize the need for action with the theme 'Supercharge Your Data Privacy and Cyber Security Program' and thought leaders from the U.S., Europe and Asia will provide the anticipated 400 attendees with practical implementation guides to address the key issues businesses are facing," stated Wei Chieh Lim, CEO at Data Privacy Asia.

Rebecca Herold, host of Data Security & Privacy with The Privacy Professor, will be delivering a keynote on September 19 at the Data Privacy Asia conference entitled "Beyond Compliance: Ethics, Technology and Trust." She will also provide a workshop on September 20 entitled, "Using Data Mapping to Understand Your Data Flows and Risks."
