The Time-Lapse Company Tells University's 'Fascinating Story'

Northcote, Victoria -- (SBWIRE) -- 12/04/2013 -- University of Melbourne Vice Chancellor Glyn Davis has praised the ability of the Time-lapse Company’s technology to capture stunning images of the construction of the university’s new landmark building.

“Digital time-lapse photography tells a fascinating story”, Professor Davis said in his December address to all university students, staff and alumni – pointing to “a striking example” of the current construction available from the Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning’s (ABP) website.

Professor Davis said that these “stunning” time-lapse videos “detail the extraordinary industry of workers on the signature building under construction at the centre of the Parkville campus site.”

The Time-lapse Company has installed three time-lapse cameras at key points around the site to capture the day-by-day construction of the Faculty’s innovative new home.

The Faculty plans to celebrate the completion of the roof in early December. Mr Davis said that it will be a “rewarding moment for dedicated ABP alumni, staff, students and supporters who have committed to creating a ‘living, learning building’ to inspire great teaching and professional practice among students of the future.

The ABP building is scheduled to open for teaching in the first semester of 2015.

The Time-lapse Company’s cameras will be in place until final construction is completed, and progress videos will be compiled each month and available for download.
