New Christmas Story: A tiny, little Christmas story fills a gap in the Christmas mythology. “The Forgotten Star” 3-minute story has been shaped into a YouTube video for those who love the magic of the holiday season.
Scottsdale, AZ -- (SBWIRE) -- 11/27/2015 -- "Once... in a lonely part of the sky..." So begins the newly-published Christmas story, "The Forgotten Star." Its author, Jamie Allen, says, "the tiny, little Christmas story is meant to put some sparkle back into the holidays."
Allen wrote the story because he feels the holiday season needs fewer Black Friday events and more magic. So just before Thanksgiving, he shaped his fantasy story into a short video and posted it on YouTube.
"Although 'The Forgotten Star' focuses on far-away events in the night sky leading up to the Nativity," says Allen, "it's really a story about responsibility, generosity, courage and sacrifice."
Who is the story for? "It's for children and adults and, really, anyone who loves the magic of the season," says Allen. Anyone can watch the short story on the story's website: www.TheForgottenStar.org.
The animated video is narrated by actor/playwright Ruby Quinn and uses the music of Dan Phillipson.
Allen says he doesn't expect his tiny story to compete with such classics as Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol," or O. Henry's "Gift of the Magi," or " 'Twas the Night Before Christmas" but does hope "The Forgotten Star" can fill a small gap in the broad mythology of Christmas.
According to the author, many of the classic Christmas stories written in the late 1800s, though charming and a solid part of the holiday season, are too long to hold the interest of today's Twitter crowd.
Allen claims "The Forgotten Star" may be far better-suited for the modern, bite-sized mindset of the general public which prefers watching videos over reading books.
"It's only three minutes" he adds, "so people can watch it while waiting in the check-out lane at the store."
