Escondido, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/04/2014 -- Toastmasters International, the leader in communication development, recently held their International Convention at which they announced the 66th recipient awarded with the Toastmasters International Accredited Speaker Program Designation. The convention, held in host country Kuala Lumpur from August 20-23, 2014, was the 83rd Toastmasters International Convention, and the first held in Kuala Lumpur. District 51, as Kuala Lumpur is known to Toastmasters, was also the first to host an International Convention of Toastmasters outside of the United States and Canada. This was great for tourism in Malaysia, which promoted 2014 as “Visit Malaysia Year.” Mrs. Barbara Khozam, earned the designation of Accredited Speaker.
The convention included a dazzling display of Malaysian culture to open the ceremonies, and was attended by people from all over the world. In addition to key awards such as Mrs. Khozam's and Public Speaker of the Year were educational seminars for attendees and leadership training for District leaders.
The Accredited Speakers Program recognizes those Toastmasters members who have achieved a level of proficiency that enables them to be paid, professional speakers. The Accredited Speaker award gives a speaker a competitive edge and sets them apart from other professional speakers as their speaking abilities and talents have been duly recognized by Toastmasters International, the world leader in communication and leadership development.
