The contest begins June 9 with entries accepted online until Aug. 18. Only the homeowner can enter; the water heater must be in proper working condition.

The serial number on the system will be used to determine the oldest unit. To confirm age and condition, Blanton's will schedule a convenient appointment. The homeowner must be present during the verification process and the home must be within Blanton's service area. The prize does not include modifications to the existing plumbing; any modifications are the responsibility of the homeowner.
