The Social Madness tournament is a one-of-a-kind corporate media challenge that measures the growth of a company's social presence. It is presented by Capital One and is being held in 43 cities throughout the United States. Companies will be ranked based on a scoring algorithm that measures their social influence including votes on Bizjournals.com, number of LinkedIn Connections, Facebook activity, and Twitter followers gained during the challenge.

The tournament is currently in its open phase until June 18th, 2012. At the end of this first phase, the 8 Triangle companies with the most points will move onto the next round.
