A survey conducted by a popular airport car parking comparison site has found consumers are moving away from high street travel agents to book their holidays. The survey found consumers are turning to the Internet for cheaper deals.

The results from the survey found that the High Street Travel Agent is no longer the main source for holiday bookings.
The High Street Travel Agent were at one time the only way for people to book a family holiday, but now thanks to the Internet there are now many ways to find good holiday deals.
The recent economic problems in the UK taught consumers to be more careful with their money. Unfortunately for the high street travel agent it taught consumers ways to save money on family holidays.
Holidaymakers found instead of going to the high street travel agent they could find better deals online. They also found that instead of booking a package holiday they could separate the holiday and buy direct from the supplier.
Ukairportcarparks.co.uk asked 500 hundred people how they booked their holiday abroad for 2014 and 2015; the following results were not surprising.
57% said they had booked with an online travel agent such as First Choice, Thomas Cook and travel comparison sites
30% said they had booked their holiday with a high street travel agent
13% said they had booked direct with the supplier
High street travel agents are trying to convince the consumer they are still the best port of call to book a holiday. According to leading travel brands on the high street, more people still use them to book their holidays however, the survey by the airport car parking comparison site, which will not come as surprise to most holidaymakers, high street travel agents are becoming redundant.
It is not surprising that more people book online when they can achieve better deals. Even when visiting a high street travel agent and comparing their price online with the same company, the high street travel agent becomes more expensive.
