The Wechsler Pool Supplies division of CES (Combined Energy Services), a renowned fuel oil company from Monticello has recently helped the Town of Thompson comply with the ADA Act (Americans with Disabilities) by installing a new access lift in the town’s park pool!
Monticello, NY -- (SBWIRE) -- 08/28/2014 -- Recently, the Wechsler Pool Supplies division of CES, one of the principal fuel oil and propane gas suppliers from Hudson Valley had the opportunity to give back to the local community. They installed a new “ADA Compliant Aquatic Access Lift” at the park pool of Town of Thompson, donated for community use. Since 1934, Wechsler Pool Supply has been catering to pool customers from Catskills & lower Hudson Valley with liquid chlorine deliveries and services.
Few years ago in 2010, it was made mandatory by the ADA for the public pools to be equipped with aquatic access lifts. The lift makes it possible for the pool to be accessible for all the swimmers at town park pool. Each season hundreds of town’s residents use the pool and every summer the Town of Thompson hosts the YMCA camp.
According to Mike Taylor, President of CES, “We understand the importance of not only being a good corporate citizen but a compassionate neighbor to the communities we serve.” He further added “Providing this access lift will help those with physical challenges enjoy the fun that being in a pool offers and will have a positive impact on their lives, so we are very proud of this project.”
In the picture, YMCA camp lifeguard Jay is demonstrating how to use the newly installed lift at the park pool of Town of Thompson. He is accompanied by Gregg Taylor (Wechsler Division Manager), Glenn Somers (Town Park Manager), Bill Rieber (Town Supervisor), Peter Briggs (Town Council Member), Bill Culligan (Parks and Recreation Superintendent), Scott Mace (Town Board Member) and Richard Sush (Town Board Member).
