Philadelphia, PA -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/23/2016 -- The When In Need Foundation provides educational support for students in Africa and other parts of the world. Since inception, the charitable foundation has traveled throughout the mid-Atlantic region in the U.S. and Africa to deliver a host of material and emotional care to those in need. Revered as a true paragon in the world of nonprofits, The When In Foundation has been the subject of numerous publications and, most recently, an interview in Black America Web and the Huffington Post.

In June, Jacque Reid, host of Inside Her Story, interviewed Chetachi Ecton, CEO of The When In Need Foundation. Ecton spoke about her humble beginnings, immigrating to the United States and raising her children as a single mother. When she began traveling, she saw that there were so many individuals living through the same struggles she experienced, seeing those families, she decided to create an avenue where she could give back. Teaching families in disadvantaged communities how to farm, Ms. Ecton planted the seeds to grow The When In Need Foundation into the philanthropic entity it is today.

On July 9th, Ms Chetachi Ecton and her team presented sporting equipment to a youth baseball team in Corona NY. A girl who was had speech and hearing deficiency was handed an IPad complete with software to help her communicate better with her family.

With Peter 'Souleo' Wright of the Huffington Post in August, she also shared how her traveling experience and background inspired her work even further.

In August a homeless woman with 6 kids in Philadelphia was given an opportunity to have power, home supplies, furniture and beds by Ms Ecton and the win foundation team. Her intervention for the mother of 6 was based on empathy as she knows what it was like to be a single mom without food and shelter.

In April through May, When In Need foundation provided medical assistance to the Internal Displaced Persons in Abuja, Nigeria. provided portable water in a community in the south eastern part of the country as well as resources for education and agriculture.

The foundation also provided assistance to institutions and individuals in New York. The interview with Jacque Reid served as a great opportunity to create awareness on the activities the When In Need Foundation globally.
