Studies have proven that many of us take clutter from one house to another, taking the time to wrap, pack and unload it. It is thought that on average when moving house around £4,000 worth of unwanted clutter is taken.

To some, like me, this may seem quite confusing – and some of you may be left thinking, why? Here are just three of the reasons people hesitate to get rid of their junk:

1. Fear. A lot of people avoid getting rid of things as they are scared that they may need them in the future. However, if you haven't used said things in the past couple of years, you are incredibly unlikely too.

3. Intimidation. Many people simply can't face sorting through their belongings, deciding whether to keep each individual item. Moving brings the best time to do this however, as you can do so whilst packing – combatting both issues at once.
