WildiZe Foundation & Our Wild World Talk Radio Show: "BLOOD LIONS"

With the launch of internationally acclaimed “BloodLions: Bred for the Bullet” premiering around the world, this hard hitting documentary film exposes the dark underbelly of the lucrative and growing industry of canned lion hunting and lion farming. Eli Weiss, Host of Our Wild World, a global, informative and lively conservation talk program, welcomes special guest Ian Michler, Blood Lions™ consultant, and lead character.

Phoenix, AZ -- (SBWIRE) -- 11/25/2015 -- Join world renowned conservationist and Host Eli Weiss for a riveting discussion with Special Guest Ian Michler, consultant for Blood Lions, about the illegal lion farming industry that generates over 10 million dollars every year in South Africa. Tune in Monday morning November 30, 2015 at 8:00 a.m. PT 9:00 a.m. MT.

Eli has discussed and spread awareness on a wide variety of topics of critical concern in the world of conservation. Since the world-breaking news of the killing of Cecil the lion, conservation of African Lions has become a global topic. We need to question modern ethics and morality when it comes to the killing for profit of iconic threatened and endangered species. Wild African lions are ecosystem architects, and their population in the wild has declined by 50% in the last 50 years. Industrialized 'farming' and breeding of Lions for "big game hunting" strictly for trophy is not conservation and we need to raise awareness of these issues and the challenges now, before it is too late.

Over several episodes of Our Wild World, the challenges facing wild and captive Lions is discussed by Eli and Guests including: Chris Mercer (Campaign Against Canned Hunting Lion), Australian law with Donalea Patman and Ian Michler, Dr. Pieter Kat of LionAid, Kevin Richardson (The Lion Whisperer), Pat Craig (The Wild Animal Sanctuary) and Bill Given, Assoc. Researcher, Denver Zoo (CTA).

Bloodlions Ian Michler has spent the last 25 years working as a specialist guide, consultant, investigative writer and photo-journalist across Africa, including 13 years based in the Okavango Delta, Botswana. He has worked as a researcher and field coordinator on various natural history television documentaries for international broadcasters and as a consultant on ecotourism to various private sector and government agencies. Thanks to Ian and his 'Blood Lions' documentary, the Canned Lion hunting industry of South Africa has recently been outvoted. By spreading awareness to this growing issue, it has truly made a difference.

Our Wild World has intensively covered the story on canned lions, and supports the premiere of Blood Lions in New York December 10, 2015. In 30 years of wildlife conservation and three years since Eli embarked on her radio show, she is as fiercely determined as ever to see an end to wildlife crime, and end to canned hunting and related cruel industries through education and spreading awareness.
