Oaks, PA -- (SBWIRE) -- 03/26/2014 -- On Saturday, December 14, 2013, William B. Fretz, Jr. and Steve Fischer held Tailgate for Troops, also known as the 2013 M.O.A.T. (Mother of all Tailgates). The event was held before the Army vs. Navy game at Lincoln Financial Field’s M LOT in Philadelphia. Given the success of this fundraiser, William Fretz plans to continue this tradition and hold similar events in the future.
Admission for the tailgate was free, but tax deductible donations were accepted. Profits went to charities for veterans – 50% went to Pin-Ups for Vets, a nonprofit organization that raises money to benefit hospitalized veterans. Pin-Ups for Vets promote improved healthcare and quality of life for sick and wounded veterans, as well as providing support to military spouses and families. Proceeds also went to the Wounded Warrior Project and hospitals around the country.
The tailgate included 3 BBQ teams, Cajun Jambalaya, New England Lobster Rolls, an Ice Luge, Flat Screen TVs, Live DJ, and a Silent Auction. It was also topped off with a performance by Madison Rising, America’s most patriotic rock band and one of the finalists to play during halftime at the Super Bowl. This exciting gathering drew almost 2,000 people in 2012, and this past year saw over 2,500 in attendance. Join the party next December to help Bill Fretz and Steven Fischer make Tailgate for Troops and even bigger blowout.
Donations can be made at any time through PayPal on the Tailgate for Troops website.
