New York, NY -- (SBWIRE) -- 05/31/2018 -- In the Popeye Magazine feature, Kobayashi names Feltman's of Coney Island as one of his top three favorite hot dog spots. Whenever he happens to be in the New York area, Kobayashi can sometimes be seen enjoying a Feltman's hot dog at the St. Marks Place location in New York's East Village. Kobayashi has said that eating Feltman's is "as good as eating steak!"

As a competitive eater, Takeru Kobayashi has earned several records for his skills at eating a multitude of foods such as hot dogs. He rose to fame in 2001 when he achieved his first world record during his rookie appearance at a hot dog eating competition which, coincidentally, was held in Coney Island. Kobayashi has since gone on to break his own record several times.
