Allentown, PA -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/13/2018 -- YMC Co., Ltd., the parent company of YMC America, Inc., entered a formal agreement to acquire LEWA-Nikkiso America, Inc (LNA). The acquisition integrates the complementary functionality of both companies. YMC Co., Ltd. is a global provider of liquid chromatography products and services, while LEWA-Nikkiso America is a provider of advanced production scale chromatography systems for the bioprocessing and pharmaceutical industries.

This acquisition strengthens the presence of YMC Co., Ltd. in North America, as it marks the company's first America-based manufacturing location. When YMC absorbs the former LEWA-Nikkiso America, Inc. they will assume control of all assets including staff members at the company's Devens, MA manufacturing location. By assimilating these new team members, YMC builds a more robust manufacturing capability for chromatography systems and purification products.

The merger between YMC Co., Ltd. and LEWA-Nikkiso America, Inc (LNA) will establish a long-term supply agreement for LEWA pumps, which are key components in EcoPrime LPLC, HPLC, Continuous Chromatography, buffer in-line dilution (BID), and simulated moving bed (SMB) systems. These products will continue to be produced at the newly-acquired manufacturing facility. The deal also includes LEWA-Nikkiso America's licenses with ChromaCon AG and Bayer AG.
