Dr. Joseph Bedich Provides Amalgam-Free Dentistry to His Patients

Logo“People often cite esthetic and health considerations about their old metal fillings. It really is correct that the esthetics of your smile can be considerably enhanced using a far more natural, tooth-colored repair,” Dr. Bedich states. Additionally, there are other reasons why someone would want to change to a tooth colored porcelain restoration or maybe a resin composite filling. Almost everything wears out, and your silver fillings are no different. They hold up against heavy biting forces every day, and as they age, they split, leak and can result in damaging fractures in teeth. With time, metal amalgam fillings can actually absorb water, causing them to swell and even break away from the teeth.

Dr. Joseph Bedich Urges Patients to Get Help with Sleep Apnea

LogoDr. Joseph Bedich explains, “Although snoring seems physically harmless, it may be a red flag for a much more serious and sometimes fatal condition called obstructive sleep apnea.” This happens when the air passage deflates, blocking airflow into the lungs. The harder one tries to breathe, the tighter the air passage seals. This airway blockage persists until the brain partly wakes up the person.

Dr. Joseph Bedich Encourages Patients to Have Dental Implants

LogoDr. Bedich explains, “Implants serve as the artificial root to which new teeth are bonded. The placement of dental implants can help prevent the loss of jawbone, a very typical problem associated with missing teeth.” Dental Implants are typically constructed of titanium, a strong and safe material that effectively attaches to bone. The procedure to insert dental implants typically involves three steps: the implant insertion stage, osseointegration (the period of healing for the jawbone), and the attachment of the restoration or new tooth.
