Every September, the Isabella Santos Foundation puts together a charity 5K run to raise money for pediatric cancer research. Presented by the Charlotte Checkers, there is still time to register for the 7th annual Isabella Santos Foundation 5K for Kids Cancer, taking place on Saturday, September 20 at Ballantyne Corporate Park beginning at 8 am. The largest Charlotte 5K, this year is going to be bigger and better than ever, with more sponsors and participants already signed up.

As a proud foundation for children with cancer, The Isabella Santos Foundation is announcing their involvement with the Band of Parents, Inc. and a number of sister foundations to present a grant to Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in order to fully fund and test an antibody targeted at neuroblastoma treatment. At the end of July, Aurora Ismaili, a 13-year-old member of the Band of Parents who has overcome and survived neuroblastoma, presented Dr. Nai-Kong Cheung, with the second installment of a $2,000,000 grant, serving as the largest pediatric cancer grant in the history of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.

Just a few months away, the Isabella Santos Foundation is gearing up for its 7th annual 5k run for charity. Raising money for Neuroblastoma research and other pediatric cancers, the non-profit foundation is in the process of planning a silent auction and raffle to be held at the race. The goal is to provide popular, fun items that individuals can donate for the auction, and this July, they are looking specifically for LEGOs.

The event of the year for the Isabella Santos Foundation is on the horizon. Through the past seven years, their charity 5K and fun run has raised over $700,000 for the ongoing research of Neuroblastoma and pediatric cancers that affect those close to hearts. Now, those interested in participating in the 7th annual event, held on September 20 in Charlotte, NC, registration and sign up is now open through the Isabella Santos website. This year, a 10K run will be introduced, as well. Every person who registers for the run will receive a t-shirt, goodie bag, and official racing bib with a microchip timing system.

This June, the professional lacrosse team in Charlotte, the Charlotte Hounds are partnering with The Isabella Santos Foundation to hold the first annual ZERO K Run before their game on Saturday, June 14.
