Miami Beach, FL -- (SBWIRE) -- 06/06/2017 -- It's recommended that customers spend their first night with their tattoo bandage/wrapping on to prevent the sensitive skin from rubbing. This step also helps with the common oozing. Once the time period ends, wrapping should be removed carefully and slowly.
The first wash after getting tattooed is very important. Upon removing the wrapping, the tattoo will likely be covered in a clear gooey layer that needs to be cleaned off thoroughly, but gently. Make sure to wash hands meticulously prior to cleaning. Proceed by gently wetting the tattoo area with lukewarm water using the palm and fingers. Customers should not use a washcloth or a rough towel of any kind. Use mild antibacterial soap that's free of fragrance or alcohol once the tattoo is damp and gently wash off the gooey layer and any bits of dry blood or ink. Do not force any bits to come off.
Lightly pat the skin dry or allow it to air dry. Once the tattoo is completely dry, gently apply a thin layer of moisturizing ointment or lotion to the skin.
