Owing to acute toxicity, organophosphate and carbamate are used extensively as potent insecticides and pesticides. Accidental exposure to organophosphate and carbamate often lead to inhibition of acetylcholinesterase which propels excess nicotine stimulation, thus resulting in extreme conditions such as nausea, dizziness, loss of memory, paralysis, and slowed heartbeat. Prolonged exposure to organophosphate and carbamate can even lead to fatality.
