Overall, snack bars in Germany continued to be dominated by granola/muesli bars, which were responsible for almost 90% of the total category's retail value sales, leaving only a fraction of the share for breakfast bars, energy and nutrition bars and fruit bars. Granola/muesli bars enjoys a rather loyal consumer target group, which consists of people with increasingly hectic lifestyles, who are looking for products suitable for convenient on-the-go consumption.
