Ongoing macroeconomic stability in Costa Rica in 2012 helped hot drinks to maintain similar volume growth rates to those registered since 2010. The market has recovered from the economic downturn of 2009 but continued to register modest growth. Prices remained almost untouched, particularly as more imported products became available at very competitive prices in most modern grocery retailers, benefiting from free trade agreements with countries such as the US.
