New Market Study Published: Vending in Brazil
The use of vending machines as a promotional tool, rather than a serious retail strategy, continued to be a common trend in 2012. As such, vending machines often featured offbeat products such as canned tuna and sunglasses. Searching for a marketing gimmick, 2012 saw a businessman in Sao Paulo enter the category with new vending machines imported from the Netherlands, but they were used only for foodservice sales in downtown locations.
