New Market Study Published: Gum in Singapore
Gum continues to see declining sales, with a decline of 6% expected for 2012. Gum is effectively banned in Singapore, with the exception of chewing gum with proven health benefits. However, the marketing of all gum is prohibited in Singapore. Moreover, it is available only at pharmacies, held behind the counter where consumers need to ask the pharmacist to purchase it. Thus, there is low awareness of gum among consumers.
