Performance within herbal/traditional in 2012 was weaker than the review period average, with sales falling for the third consecutive year. Demand contraction was primarily due to unstable economic conditions and the further decline of consumer disposable incomes. A growing number of consumers are willing to ignore minor to moderate health issues before deciding to spend on medication.
