Consumer habits have shifted towards frugality and even the initial bouncebacks in form of the "lipstick effect" ( indulging in small pleasures by buying products which are not necessarily needed, but do not cost much) have worn out. If not cutting on consumption of their preferred brands, buyers switch to cheaper alternatives.
