Recently Released Market Study: Direct Selling in Hong Kong, China
Although the overall economy saw a slowdown in 2012, direct selling still saw stronger growth than in the previous year, at 49% in current value terms to reach sales of HK$6.1 billion. This was due to aggressive promotions and a push by sales personnel. Person-to-person is the most common format in direct selling, since it is effective in terms of building word-of-mouth, and is more convincing to customers.
