New Market Study, "Hot Drinks in Portugal", Has Been Published
Due to the depth of the economic crisis, total volume sales of hot drinks decreased in 2012. Retail value growth was stimulated by increased innovation in coffee pods and tea. However, in the on-trade channel demand continued to fall. Portuguese consumers turned to consuming hot drinks at home as a result of lower average unit prices in retail channels compared to foodservice establishments, but overall consumption levels fell.
