New Market Research Report: Financial Cards and Payments in Egypt
The number of financial cards and financial card transaction value continued to increase in Egypt during 2012 and ATM and debit card usage increased substantially towards the end of the review period. Following the 25 January revolution and subsequent lack of security in the streets, people stopped carrying cash around and resorted to plastic money across the three different areas: personal credit cards, debit cards and ATM cards.
