In 2012, economic growth was stagnant with GDP growth anticipated at less than 2%. However, the growth of gasoline and utility prices resulted in an expectation of inflation. Consumers in Taiwan are likely to purchase more products, especially those that have not been price-adjusted, in order to stock for future usage. As a result, retailing expenditure will increase, thereby stimulating industry growth.
