Floods are the big issue that disrupted domestic consumption, production and distribution channels for the Thai economy during the last quarter of 2011. The flooding had a negative impact on many industries including the consumer appliances industry. Some manufacturers of electric appliances and electrical parts needed to suspend their operation for a few months in order to recover the factories. However, home laundry appliances saw volume and value growth of 5% and 6%, respectively in 2012.
