Away-from-home tissue and hygiene registered current value sales growth of 18% in 2012. However, growth was much slower than in 2011. The main reason was the economic downturn, which led to higher unemployment and a reduction in general income levels, forcing consumers to be more conscious of prices and tighten their budgets. This caused a sharp decrease in revenue for most businesses in Vietnam, especially restaurants/hotels, and some outlets were closed down.
