Toilet care benefited from a growing focus on hygiene in the home towards the end of the review period. Strong advertising for brands such as Reckitt Benckiser's Harpic and Spartan's Flash also encouraged more consumers to buy these products, as did widening availability via channels such as variety stores, mass merchandisers and convenience stores.
