Malt-based RTDs continued to drive volume and value growth in 2012, after having emerged in 2011. Malt-based RTDs grew by 134% in off-trade volume terms, reaching 5.2 million litres in 2012. The product type enjoyed much popularity from consumers and manufacturers alike, as more than a dozen new brands entered the category in 2012, and even more variations are anticipated to reach the market in early 2013.
