Sportswear in India - New Market Study Published
Current value sales of sportswear increased by 21% in 2012 to reach value sales Rs152 billion. Increasing numbers of sporting events in India, such as the Indian premier league (IPL) cricket match event in April and May each year, increased the penetration of cricket in rural India. This trend leads to an increase in demand for sportswear. Furthermore, university and intercollege events and annual athletic meets also increased sales of sportswear during the review period.
