New Market Research Report: Car Rental in Peru
In 2012, car rental was dominated by small and informal companies not registered in the National Base of Tourism Service Providers. They offer prices 30% to 40% lower than multinational enterprises such as Budget, Hertz or Localiza because they have lower operating costs. Formal companies are expecting to benefit from the newly-approved tax exemption since they are considered as service exporters when renting to international tourists, reducing prices and becoming more competitive.
