"Hosiery in Germany" Published
Current value and volume sales of hosiery grew in 2012, by 2% and 1% respectively. The category's performance was limited due to the dominating presence of private label in Germany. But hosiery is less influenced by the dipping consumer confidence levels, as supposed to other categories in apparel, because socks and tights are positioned at a much lower price point. In addition, hosiery is perceived as a necessity item throughout the colder seasons in Germany.
