Tobacco in Venezuela - New Report Available
Despite country macroeconomic variables showing signs of an improvement over 2012, with country GDP increasing by 5% and the Venezuelan government increasing public spending as a strategy to favour its re-election, general wellbeing did not reach average Venezuelans. As low-income consumers continued to deal with a tight budget, they continued to downgrade to economy brands of cigarettes. As the result, economy cigarettes was the only price band to show favourable volume growth over 2012.
